It's that the dog training shock collar really hurt our dogs?
There is a lot of controversy surrounding the use of dog training collars with a shock feature. Some people believe that they can cause physical harm to dogs, while others believe that they can be a safe and effective training tool when used correctly.
It is essential to note that the shock delivered by dog training collars is not intended to cause pain or harm to the dog. Instead, it is designed to be a mild form of punishment that discourages undesirable behavior. The shock should be uncomfortable enough to get the dog's attention but not so painful that it causes them to yelp or become fearful.
However, if the dog training collar is used incorrectly, it can cause harm to the dog. For example, if the shock is too high or the collar is left on for too long, it can cause physical harm to the dog. Additionally, if the dog is not properly trained, the use of a shock collar can cause more harm than good, as it can create fear and anxiety in the dog.
It is essential to remember that the use of a dog training collar with a shock feature should only be considered after other training methods have been tried and have failed. The collar should be used as a last resort and only when the dog owner has received proper training on how to use the collar correctly. Dog owners should always start with the lowest level of shock and gradually increase the intensity only when necessary.
In summary, when used correctly and responsibly, a dog training collar with a shock feature can be a safe and effective tool for training your dog. However, it should only be used as a last resort and with proper training and guidance from a professional trainer.
I live in the UK where it has recently been made unlawful to use a shock collar, although not unlawful to purchase one. I have used a Garmin shock collar on my dog for four years, but the transmitter broke and the cost of replacement was enormous. I came across your products on the Internet and purchased a PD529 which has proven to be a fantastic device. In fact, the shock element function has not been required as the sound and vibration systems produce amazing responses. It has been particularly valuable to have an adjustable vibration level and by way of a suggestion it may well be a useful development if the sound levels could also be adjusted on future models. Nevertheless, this is a great product and available at a sensible price. Highly recommended. Well done
